We hope you are inspired this week to put kindness in action in the name of someone you lost, someone you want to honor, a group or person you wish to help, or even for yourself. We are doing this in memory of my son Jordan. We hope you'll catch the wave and brighten someone's day.
My son Jordan tragically passed away on August 30, 2023 at age 30. He's known for his beautiful eyes, smile, and his bright inner light. In April 2024, we created Jordanslight.org to continue his story and to share Jordan's light.
We have delivered over 1200 bags of toiletries and zippered Ikea bags to those in need and to sober living centers. With additional donations, bags were filled with books, food gift cards, school supplies, and personal care items in order to make some days a little easier in the lives of others. Items of comfort for those going through chemo have also been delivered. Special deliveries have been made to Children's Hospital as well as the Ronald McDonald House.
At Jordan's Light we strive to carry out kindness in action, ignite a ripple effect to remind others they are not alone, and to restore a layer of dignity to those in need.
We believe we can do even more good going beyond and spreading light wherever we can. This stays true to Jordan and continues his story.
Yes, we are still contributing to our original mission. At Jordan's Light we aim to restore a piece of dignity one bag at a time.
We saw a need. There was an unintended message being sent when people would move from sober living and rehab centers. They would be given trash bags, and toiletries were not provided, but something often requested and needed.
All donations made to Jordanslight.org went towards purchasing the items to meet our first goal. Kindness in Action will be privately funded. Any administration costs such as the website and the uplifting gift bags are purchased with private funds as well.
